PLANNING APPROVED
Smash Padel is officially coming to Bathampton. Planning permission has been approved for five panoramic courts under canopy covers on a site with a rich local history, once part of the former Bathampton Junction railway station and later used as a timber yard.
The club has been carefully designed to respect that history and sit naturally within its surroundings. Repurposed shipping containers will form the pavilion and facilities, while metal-clad canopies will provide a further nod to the site’s railway heritage.
When we open, players aged four and upwards will be able to discover padel through free intro sessions, develop their game with our coaching programmes and join our established junior pathway. It’s the same welcoming, community-focused approach you’ll find across every Smash Padel club.
The application received 190 letters of support, demonstrating the demand for accessible sports facilities in the Bath area and the enthusiasm for bringing this currently unused site back into community use.
