Smash Padel coach Annabelle Denly has been recognised by the LTA as a padel coaching role model, highlighting her growing impact in helping more people, particularly women, discover the sport.
Annabelle’s journey into coaching began after she discovered padel and quickly fell in love with the game’s social, inclusive and accessible nature. What started as a passion for playing soon evolved into a desire to help others experience the same benefits that padel had brought to her.
Now coaching with Smash Padel, Annabelle has become a key figure in introducing new players to the sport and creating welcoming environments for people stepping onto the court for the first time.
Alongside her sister Hannah Denly, Annabelle has also been recognised for helping inspire the next generation of players and coaches in the UK’s rapidly growing padel community.
A key part of Annabelle’s work is her Sofa2Smash initiative, which encourages women who may not have played sport before to get active and try padel. The programme focuses on removing the barriers that often prevent women from participating in sport by creating a supportive, fun and social environment where beginners can feel comfortable learning the game.
Through initiatives like this, Annabelle hopes to help more women gain confidence through sport, build new friendships and experience the physical and mental wellbeing benefits of being active.
As padel continues to grow across the UK, coaches like Annabelle are playing an important role in making the sport more accessible and ensuring it remains welcoming to people of all backgrounds and abilities.
